We, Medensans, assert that all names which were previously assigned to us are not tribal, national or ethnic names. 
Therefore, neither of those names is worthy to be the name of a great people, and certainly not of us.

        The M in our name represents all people that migrated from Sub-Sahara Africa.  Because our slave and subsequent female ancestors were subject to unpunished rape by the male American populace at large, we carry the blood of all persons that migrated from Sub-Sahara Africa in our veins. It is fitting, therefore, that M for migrant should be the first letter in our name.

Most of our African ancestors were taken from Sub-Sahara Africa. Depictions of Sub-Sahara Africa usually describe bibical "Eden."

in our name is the
immediate continent from which our slave ancestors were taken. S in our name acknowledges that we are descended from African slaves. 

A identifies the hemisphere (the Americas) and the major country (America) in which our African ancestors were enslaved. Adding A to our name completes the spelling of Medensa, our symbolic national home. When Medensa is joined by the letter N we have Medensan,
our beautiful ethnic name.
